Tuning
Regular precision tuning maintains the instrument at the proper pitch level, which can drift with changes in temperature and humidity.
Action Regulation
Action regulation is the adjustment of all moving parts of the Keyboard inside the piano. Over time, with normal playing, these parts can fall out of alignment rendering the keyboard difficult to control. Regulating the action restores the mechanism to its optimal sensitivity touch.
Voicing
The art of adjusting the timbre (brightness or mellowness) of the sound this is done by adjusting the texture and occasionally the shape of the hammer felts.
Piano Restoration
Piano restoration is meant to bring the piano to its original condition. Piano Shop NYC rebuilds pianos from the inside-out. Depending on what is necessary, we can replace all parts of the piano, including the soundboard “which is the heart of the piano”, all components of the action mechanism, including hammer shanks, wippens, hammers , pinblock, strings, damper felts, and piano keys. We can refinish the exterior case with a satin or glossy black finish as well as other customizable colors.
